“Stepping Out to Unconventional Wisdom”
Black Tie benefit for Chelsea School

This Black Tie Gala brought together Heather R. Mizeur (Montgomery County House of Delegates member, District 20), Robert Claiborne (the architect who works with Daniel Libeskind and who has designed the new Chelsea School), and the keynote speaker Jamin B. (Jamie) Raskin (MD State Senator 20th District) to fundraise and raise awareness about Chelsea School's mission to educate students with language-based learning disabilities.
The event featured a live auction and featured the world premier of the Walter Brockdocumentary on Chelsea School and its vision, which can be
viewed on our Giving section.

"A Conversation with Daniel Libeskind"
Sixth & I Synagogue, Washington, DC

Internationally renowned architect Daniel Libeskind discussed his unique background at the 100 year old, historic Sixth & I Synagogue. He discussed the way in which architecture can memorialize and reshape human experience, while exploring ideas about tragedy and hope.
Following the conversation and the open forum for question and answers, there was a book signing for Libeskind’s book, "The Space of Encounter," which is available here.
